Michigan’s 2026 Real-World Deployment and Test Site Grants have moved into Round 2, with applications open through May 15.

The program continues to support both controlled test environments and real-world deployment projects across cities, airports, and transportation corridors.
With Round 1 complete, expectations are now clearer. Projects must be operational—not conceptual—and must demonstrate defined partnerships, clear use cases, and alignment with public-sector priorities.
This is deployment funding. The emphasis is on execution—projects that are already built, partnered, and ready to operate.
Thelenwood Consulting supported multiple Round 1 application efforts and stands ready to assist teams preparing for Round 2—helping structure partnerships, align projects with state priorities, and position applications for successful deployment.
